What does the ENERGY STAR® label mean on office equipment?

The ENERGY STAR® label identifies personal computers, monitors, printers, copiers and fax machines and other electrical appliances that meet the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards for energy efficiency. This equipment goes into a "sleep" (low energy-consuming) mode when not in use and can immediately be ready for use when needed again.
