This program sets standards
for high efficiency lighting including recessed fixtures,
floor
and table lamps, outdoor lights, and ceiling
mounted and
track-lighting fixtures.
  
Since homes in the US have a
total of over 3 billion light fixtures, the potential for energy savings is high.
This saving translates in to dollars when it comes time to pay your utility bill.
The Environmental Protection Agency estimates that two thirds of household lighting energy
could be saved through this program.
In addition to
energy-efficiency, ENERGY STAR qualified lighting products offer many other benefits to
